About the speakers:


Allison Fitzpatrick is a partner in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Practice Group of Davis & Gilbert LLP. She regularly advises clients on children’s advertising matters, including compliance with the Children’s Advertising Review Unit’s Self-Regulatory Guidelines and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Ms. Fitzpatrick is a member of the Children’s Advertising Review Unit’s Supporters Council. She has represented clients in state regulatory investigations, including comprehensive multi-state actions, and proceedings before the National Advertising Division and the Children’s Advertising Review Unit. Ms. Fitzpatrick represents media companies, advertising agencies, promotions agencies and advertisers in connection with all aspects of advertising, marketing, promotions and entertainment. She regularly counsels clients on false advertising, claim substantiation, privacy, telemarketing, direct mail, endorsement and testimonial issues, as well as intellectual property matters involving copyright, trademark, right of privacy and publicity.


Ms. Fitzpatrick also has significant experience in the area of sweepstakes and promotions and regularly advises clients on games of chance, complex skill contests, rebates, gift cards, and coupons. In addition, she frequently counsels on social networking, user-generated content, mobile marketing and other emerging media.


Laura J. Protzmann has been Counsel - Marketing and Intellectual Property at The Dannon Company, Inc since July 2009. She supports Dannon's Health & Wellness brands, including Light & Fit®, the Core brands (Fruit on the Bottom, Quarts, All Natural, Greek) and the children's brands (Danimals® and Dan-o-ninoTM). Ms. Protzmann provides counseling on all aspects of the brands' marketing and promotional campaigns, including any social media campaigns. She worked closely with the Light & Fit brand team when it launched Dannon’s first social media page on Facebook last year.


Prior to joining Dannon, Ms. Protzmann spent five years at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, specializing in advertising and intellectual property litigation and counseling. She received her J.D. from Fordham School of Law.
