Writing & Designing for an International Audience

Audio conference highlights

Are you responsible for generating content for global markets? Are you worried that the meaning in your message might be lost or altered because of cultural differences? Culture, translation, writing, and design interweave in curious ways when preparing content for an international audience. These elements require important skills for creating global content, especially given the increasing pressure to standardize and comply with various international and internal standards.

This presentation highlights some key contradictions inherent in writing and designing for a multicultural and multilingual audience and discuss proven strategies for their resolution.

This audio conference covers:

  • How to graduate from localization and internationalization to globalization in perspective and in practice
  • How to embrace standardization without stifling creativity
  • How to reduce the cost of translation and translation turnaround time while improving quality
  • How to cultivate writing and design strategies that align with globalization

The content was great. A little more variety would be nice. Without any visuals, it is easy to lose focus. Maybe multiple speakers during the hour, or maybe a dialog/interview format in addition to lecture would be a way to make it a little more engaging.

The presentation was good. I wish we had attended a presentation like this 2 years earlier! Many of the points made in the presentation were lessons we learned the hard way.

This presentation was great as an orientation to this topic. Excellent information on how knowledge of language and culture can be used to improve information transfer. By the end of the presentation, I’m hoping there will be a sequel!
